Courtney L. Weida’s research interests include gender and visual culture; community arts; studio crafts; digital learning communities; and art education research methodologies.
She co-edited, along with Adelphi faculty Diane Caracciolo, the book The Swing of the Pendulum: The Urgency of Arts Education for Healing, Learning, and Wholeness, and she is the author of numerous book chapters, academic articles and conference presentations. She is the recipient of several grants for teaching, technology and travel.
Weida earned her EdD in Art and Art Education from Columbia University Teachers College and her MA in Arts in Education from Harvard University. She also holds a BA in Visual Art, English Literature and Elementary Education from Northeastern University.
