Dr. Levin’s research and scholarship focus on human service agencies and entrepreneurial strategies in the public and nonprofit sectors. Knowledge about management, organization, marketing and fundraising is important for social workers, particularly in light of scarce government funding. This topic is the focus of Dr. Levin’s course, SWK 722, Organizational Context for Professional Practice.
Dr. Levin earned a PhD and MPA from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Policy and Administration, an MSW from Fordham University and a BS from the University of Wisconsin (Madison). He supervised the development of one of the first Management Information Systems for human service agencies, and has been a consultant, supervisor and administrator in public and nonprofit agencies and in academia, in New York City and Long Island.
