Philip A. Rozario is a professor of social work and interim dean at Adelphi University School of Social Work. He focuses his scholarly interest on well-being in later life, specifically for frail individuals and their families within the long-term care system. His past research endeavors have included the examination of service use by depressed older adults, quality of life, well-being of African American women family caregivers, the well-being of participants at senior centers and productive engagement and outcomes in later life. More recently, he has examined the impact of neoliberal policymaking on social work practice and discourse of successful aging in Singapore, specifically examining the implementation of the Maintenance of Parents Act of 1995 and the conceptualization and construction of successful aging in Singapore. He was awarded the Hartford Geriatric Social Work Faculty Scholar award in 2003, a visiting scholarship award from the National University of Singapore in 2010, a visiting expert award from the Agency for Integrated Care of Singapore in 2015 and a visiting senior scholar at Asia Research Institute of Singapore in 2017. He served as past chair of the Social Research, Policy and Practice Section of the Gerontological Society of America, where he is also a fellow.
