Michele Traina
Michele Traina is an educator, performer, and writer. She received her undergraduate degree in theatre from Adelphi University in 2003 and earned a master’s degree in educational theatre from New York University in 2009. Michele has taught theatre throughout the country both as a theatre teacher and an artist focusing on devising theatre through improvisation, movement, and process drama.
Michele is the owner of Propbox Players, a theatre company dedicated to bringing inclusion-based performances using sensory theatre. Her acting and writing have been highlighted on Amazon Prime, Tamron Hall, The Sherri Show, and Wendy Williams, and she is a touring stand-up comedian who has featured for Kevin Farley, Pete Correale, and Joe Machi.
Her show Divorce Diaries has won over a dozen film festival awards including Best Screenplay in the Breakout Film Festival (2023).
Michele has presented at EDTPA and AATE conferences on her inclusion-based work in theatre and how to create an engaging instructional process for all learners.
