Courtney L. Weida’s research interests include gender and visual culture; community arts; studio crafts; digital learning communities; and art education research methodologies.
She co-edited, along with Adelphi faculty Diane Caracciolo, the book The Swing of the Pendulum: The Urgency of Arts Education for Healing, Learning, and Wholeness, and she is the author of numerous book chapters, academic articles, and conference presentations. She is the recipient of several grants for teaching, technology, and travel.
Weida earned her Ed.D. in Art and Art Education from Columbia University Teachers College and her M.A. in Arts in Education from Harvard University. She also holds a B.A. in Visual Art, English Literature, and Elementary Education from Northeastern University.
