Beverly Araujo Dawson’s research interests include the impact of psychosocial stressors such as discrimination and language barriers on the mental health of Latino immigrants, as well as the development of culturally competent interventions for Latino communities.
She has authored and co-authored numerous articles in professional journals including Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences and Journal of Teaching in Social Work, and has presented at several esteemed research conferences.
Dawson earned her Ph.D. and M.S.W. from the University of Michigan, and her B.A. from Hunter College.
