Artistic Portfolio
Your portfolio should demonstrate strong competence in one area of specialization along with breadth across other media. For most projects, we ask for 15 to 20 pieces that showcase your work. For video, performance or time-based work, shorter excerpts are welcome and you can include fewer pieces.
Our admissions team reviews every portfolio carefully, and we want to make sure we can fully experience your work. To keep things organized, we ask that you use one of the following formats:
- A link to your existing online portfolio (for example, a personal website, Behance, ArtStation, Adobe Portfolio, etc.)
- A single PDF or slideshow (PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides), emailed as one attachment or shared via a service like Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive
- A single folder of image files shared via Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or similar
- A link to your work on Vimeo or YouTube for video, performance or time-based pieces
Please submit your portfolio as a single link, file or folder to artedma@adelphi.edu. If you have any questions, please call us at 516.619.2209.
Adelphi art alumni are not required to submit a portfolio.
Video Statement
Your video statement helps us get to know you and understand how you plan to manage the program. Once you’ve completed your application, email your video as an MP4 file to artedma@adelphi.edu. Address each of these three topics:
How you’ll manage your time studying online, including how you’ll set your own schedule and work independently on art projects and papers
How you’ll balance part-time fieldwork during school hours with your coursework in your second and third semesters
How you’ll make time for full-time student teaching during your final semester, which takes place during a full school day
Transcript Information
All candidates must submit official undergraduate transcripts for all schools where credits were earned toward the conferred degree.
